Cindy, I had a similar situation happen to me. Except the student was
already sitting. She was about 11 or 12 years old and just collapsed in her
chair, and then onto the floor. This was in a Summer School environment in
a group lesson. It was pretty scary. The girl did come to in a few
seconds, but I do remember talking to her neurologist about the incident
because her eyes were blinking quickly and she was speaking when this all
occurred. But to answer your other question, I've always had my students
sit.
