One thing I've enjoyed about this thread - it's given me a shopping list for my
next 10 or so trips to the sheet music store! I've never heard of a lot of the
things that other people had on their lists. I'm an amateur clarinetist who did
not major in music at college and never had much formal instruction until very
recently, so I haven't had much exposure to repertoire beyond the usual suspects
(Mozart, Weber, Debussy, Brahms, etc.). My teacher lets me choose which
"repertoire" piece to work on (as long as it's appropriate to my ability level),
so after I'm done the Weber 1st Concerto, I'm going to make my own list out of
the postings from this thread, show it to him and pick something that's
completely new to me.
