Stage fright

Some tips from Kate Jones, writing in the BBC magazine.

The first step is to understand that our bodies are not really designed
for performance.

They are designed for survival: finding food and shelter, maintaining
body warmth and coping with life threatening situations

The next step? Stop beating yourself up for being nervous--accept that
it is a perfectly natural response to a stressful situation.

Another helpful point is to try and remember that your audience, whoever
they are, want to enjoy the experience also.

It is important to make eye contact with the examiner or the audience.
People become less frightening when you actually see them.
