The Evolutions are a bit softer than Vandorens. I play on Van and Evo
3.5's. On my mouthpiece, with Vandorens, i have to have the reed set
slightly below the edge of the tip. With the Evolutions, i have to have it
pretty much even. I'm not sure how the stronger strengths compare to
Vandoren strengths.

Some free samples were given away with the most recent issue of
"Clarinet and Saxophone." They were supposed to be of three different
strengths,
but I wouldn't have known this without looking at them - they all (2 1/2, 3,
and
3 1/2) seemed slightly too soft.
