Long Bb fingering

This fingering first appeared on the Boehm flute.
It was adapted to the clarinet by Klose.
In the low register this fingering (which is Eb) is bit sharp. On good
clarinets it might not be terrible. Perfect to use in fast passages.
In the upper register it is a common fingering. One has to make sure
that the "bridge," ( the part that connects between the two sections
of the clarinet), works well, or it might come out stuffy, or not at
all.
It's an excellent fingering to know.
In Weber's clarinet quintet, there is a passage where it can be used
successfully.
The passage is: High C down to Bb just below the C, and then D on the
fourth line of the staff.(in triplets)
That sequence is repeated many times. Worth while learning it with the
long Bb fingering.
