Hi Dirk,

I use the long Bflat quite a lot. Specifically the opening of the 2nd mov.
Sait-Saens
Sonata, the 3rd Mov. Mozart Concerto.

If the note is resistant then your connecting keys for the lower and upper
joint are not adjusted correctly. This often leaves the pad connected to the
2nd ring on your upper joint a little open, this creates the resistance. I
had my repairer John Coppen to drill a hole through my connecting key on the
upper joint inserting a nylon screw, as you often have on your throat A key.
I can then check the adjustment before I play.

2. The sharper fingering , RH finger 2, is useful when you want a sharper A #
in B minor, B major etc..
