I agree with all the above comments. I bought a Series 9 recently, mainly for
jazz playing.
I have not yet been able to find a barrel which would make it comfortable for
orchestral playing. I have tried seven or eight, all of which work well on an
R13, only one, an old Leblanc one, works acceptably on the Selmer, so I think
you will be taking a gamble unless you solve the barrel problem first.
P.S. Many 'forked' fingerings which don't work on the R13, work well on the
Selmer.
