I need to get better use of my computer MIDI-wise, and I also want to begin using SmartMusic in teaching situations.

To use SmartMusic, one must have a full duplex audio capable sound card, which at this poit I do not have.

I have been researching sound cards on the net for the last hour, but so much is aimed at the game-player, and very little to the serious musician.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a sound card suitable for the uses above? Assume at least a Pentium II and Windows98.
