Dirk, I think the experience of hundreds of clarinetists past and present would prove your statement to be naive.

I do have several ligatures, Rovner and BG with the one screw design, and I do use them on occassion. I also have a wonderful Bay, an old Kaspar, and a 50 year old B&H liguture to die for. They all have two screws.

Bet I could sell the old Kaspar ligature for $200, and there would be no end of people that would want to buy it (no way, folks).

There is a place for many different designs. Different, halls, different reeds, etc.

I appreciate that you have an opinion, and are wanting to be helpful. Please be aware, however, of the realities before making blanket statements.
