Mark, you are right. Both (Rovner dark/Vandoren optimum) do have one
screw. My last sentence was just generally spoken. I think I would
never consider to buy a ligature with more than one screw.

Dirk

Dirk, perhaps I didn't understand. Yes, the Rovner has but _one_ screw.
However, the Optimum has only _one_ screw as well. Thus, your closing
comment confused me. Are you sure you were talking about the Optimum &
didn't have it confused with another Vandoren ligature?

Best,
mw

Subject: Re: [kl] Optimum Ligatures,

"I found the material (silver) of the optimum ligature and cap very, very
poor. I bought it directly from Vandoren on a music instrument fair. I
think, after playing with it only one or two times (only short) there
appeard black spots on ligature and cap. After a few weeks cap and ligature
were completely black. In this extreme way this
never happened to me with other silver things.

Since then I only use (again) the Rovner dark and I am happy with it. I
think I don't like metal ligatures. And which is important for me: only ONE
screw."
