Why be embarrassed? That's the best thing one can do. Working up a technical
passage, I like to think of the tempo progression through the
days/weeks/decades of preparation as a parabolic upwords curve with stock
market like zig zags. In other words, start slowly and stay slow for quite a
while. And still practise slowly when you can already play faster. Some C
minor scales and arpeggios on the side would also help
