The Yamaha TD-1 can be calibrated to display the fingered note for Bb, F, Eb
instruments as well as concert instruments. But the note named on the
display is irrelevant unless you are _way_ out. Even then, you can work out
what the displayed note will be for each fingered note...

Subject: [kl] Tuners

Here's a question that has haunted me for quite some time. Are all
electronic chromatic tuners calibrated to the key of C? The reason I ask is
when I play a note on the clarinet the note name on the tuner is not the
same as the note name I'm fingering. I know the clarinet is in the key of Bb
and this is the cause of what I'm seeing. What do "you" do; just look at the
degree of sharpness or flatness and disregard the note display? Or, are
there tuners available that can be "calibrated" for instruments pitched in
different keys? Thanks.
