I played a 37 bass for over three years and loved it. The 25II model is one
that I am not very familiar with, however I understood from somebody else
that the key work in the lower joint (in particular) is different and not
quite strong enough to handle the leverages needed to close the keys
properly and therefore are problematic to maintain and play regularly.

As I said this is second hand information, I have not made any comparisons
myself.

Some time ago I asked about the differences, if any, between the Selmer 25II
and 37 bass clarinets. No one responded...not even one of the several bass
clarinet experts on this list.

I tried several other sources [e.g., Selmer USA, Selmer.fr, etc.]...again,
either no response or no inquiry source.

So...I decided to use bandwidth again in the hope *someone* will have the
answer. I also assumed my message might have been lost during the clarinet
conference.
