On the whole, no.
Some viruses (e.g. KAK) do infect using the activeX controls built into HTML
if you simply view these in MS Outlook/Express. Microsoft has a security
patch for this. Go to the Symantec website (www.symantec.com/avcenter) and
search under KAK for information on how to protect against this type of
virus.

Can an attachment which contains a virus do any harm if it is not opened,
but just deleted as it is recieved.
