Truly, Folks...here's my honest opinion...I opened the .pdf file and treated
it as a sight reading exercise the second it appeared on the screen...and
can't say any one notation was easier or more difficult to recognize than
another.

The rhythm of the phrase seems to jump out at you, whichever notation is
used...maybe because of the "pulse" line set out below, in which case I
guess I cheated...but all things considered, my first blush reaction was,
it's really "dealer's choice."

Caveat: I'm fundamentally a jazz player so maybe I've been trained to
recognize figures infrequently used, if at all, in European classical music.
On the other hand, perhaps there is a preferred notation for this figure in
the relevant literature; e.g., Gerou & Lusk, "Standard Dictionary of Music
Notation," etc.
