On the subject of Rhapsody in Blue, what is the best way to achieve
the long gliss at the very beginning? From my infrequent and not
good efforts the best feel seems to be a combination of sliding
fingers off holes and at the same time loosening then tightening
embouchure for each note, but this seems to require amazing lip/
finger coordination. Distinctly dodgy! I've only worked on R in B
once for public performance and somehow it came off, but I certainly
cannot do it predictably! However, now I play more in a wind band,
glisses are cropping up more often, so I need to know!

Thanks in advance for suggestions!
