D'oh! While it's wonderful that it LOOKS great, when it comes down to it,
the audience is not going to care one whit about how it looks over how it
sounds...unless you play a black lacquered saxophone (but I only say that
out of jealousy, since my sax prof has one, and he can wipe the walls with
me in a play-off).

Never never never never never never never never never never never never
never never never never never never never never never never never never
purchase a particular model without having played one. I purchased my
all of my horns without having played them, BUT...there were other
students with the same models here, and so I played a different R13 GL,
and knew that's what I wanted and bought one. I could have bought one on
a whim, and if it had been a lemon, or not right for me at all, how would
I have known?

Find SOMEONE who has the instrument. A local music shop perhaps (they
often let you play their demo instruments), will have the Elite. TRY IT
FIRST - it's not worth the risk involved, especially when you consider
that it's one of the most expensive clarinets on the market. Are you
really willing to spend that much money just because you like the look,
when the instrument itself may not be compatible with you?
