I have a student who has had a problem with an out of tune,
stuffy-sounding clarinet. I took a look through the bore, and discovered
that the tuning rings she is using have too small of an inside diameter,
and they obstruct the bore. After reaming the rings, the intonation
problems and stuffiness disappeared. I'm curious; has anyone else had
this problem with tuning rings?
