Hi all,

Possibly I have gotten some bad information (and if so I would like to know
so that I can quit using this method to teach my students), but my first
clarinet teacher told me that I could strengthen my fingers with a
clothespin. She taught me to hold the clothespin between my thumb and index
finger, with both fingers curved, and open and close it several times. Then
move on and do the same with the other fingers, being sure to keep them
curved.

>From some of the discussion, it seems like this method might do more harm
than good. This was what I was taught to fix the flat finger problem. What
does the board think?
