How about fastening the legs of each stand to a piece of plywood
(perhaps 2'-3' square) with strips of velcro? On a 3-legged stand,
three strips of velcro ought to be reasonably tip-proof. The velcro
can be pulled off in a half-second, and the plywood can be stored in a
closet or behind a door when not in use.

Cheers,
Bill
