Also I do not want the boosters or administration to "run over me" and

I just came home from the year-end concert at my daughter's junior
high school. If the concert demonstrated one thing to me, it was: If
you succeed in leading the children and getting them to invest their
hearts in the music, it is unlikely that anyone else will 'run over
you'.
The instrumentation tonight was not balanced (bari sax + harp, but
not one clarinet), but they played and sang arrangements of:
Vivaldi, Four Seasons
Scarborough Fair
Bach, Brandenberg #4 and a hymn
Mozart, Divertimiento #13 (?)
two jazz blues, I don't remember the titles
Alelujiah
Andrew Lloyd Weber themes
Disney "Mermaid"
Birdland
Peter Gunn
I posted a number of messages recently about our local school budget
problems (re music programs). Tonight I noticed two board members at
the concert. There's no way they could have been unaffected. Parents
are always enthusiastic, of course, but those kids had the entire
audience clapping to the beat of Birdland. Peter Gunn was the
icing-on-the-cake encore.
-Bill, who feels good tonight
