The second annual INTERNATIONAL CLARINET CONNECTION 2001 takes place from
Monday, June 18, 2001 through Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Longy School
of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Admission to all concerts is $10 and they all take place in the Edward M.
Pickman Concert Hall, at the Longy School of Music, 27 Garden Street,
Cambridge.

This week-long celebration of the clarinet and its music brings
together five international superstar clarinetists: Alessandro Carbonare,
Jonathan Cohler, Luis Rossi, Paquito D'Rivera, and Ricardo Morales. The
festival includes CHAMBERFEST 2001 a series of six world-class chamber
music
concerts.

CHAMBERFEST 2001

* Monday June 18, 2001 at 8:00 PM
=46estival Opening Concert: Jonathan Cohler in Recital

Virtuoso clarinetist and recording artist Jonathan Cohler appears in recital
with the principal clarinetist of the New York Metropolitan Opera, Ricardo
Morales; solo flutist of Young Concert Artists, Mimi Stillman; the Diabelli
String Quartet, and pianist Amy Cheng. The program includes Saint-Sa=CEns=ED
Tarantelle for flute, clarinet and piano, Mendelssohn@-----. 1
in F Minor, and Weber@-----.

Luis Rossi in Recital
With The Diabelli String Quartet and Susan Shin, piano

Principal clarinetist of the Chamber Orchestra of Chile, Luis Rossi,
presents an evening of music from South America coupled with Brahms=ED Quint=
et
in B Minor, opus 115.

* Wednesday June 20, 2001 at 8:00 PM
All Mozart Recital

Clarinetists Alessandro Carbonare, Jonathan Cohler, and Luis Rossi team up
with soprano Andrea Delgiudice, flutist Mimi Stillman, the Diabelli String
Quartet and pianists Shizue Sano and Susan Shin in an all-Mozart
extravaganza featuring "Parto! Ma tu ben mio" from Clemenza di Tito; Quartet
in D Major K. 285 for flute and strings; Trio in Eb, Major K. 498 for
clarinet, viola and piano; Quintet in A Major, K. 581.

* Thursday June 21, 2001 at 8:00 PM
Alessandro Carbonare in Recital

Principal clarinetist of the National Orchestra of France, Alessandro
Carbonare, presents an evening of music from Italy as well as the rarely
heard Quintet in Eb Major by Heinrich Baermann.

* Friday June 22, 2001 at 8:00 PM
Paquito D=EDRivera in Recital
With clarinetists Alessandro Carbonare, Jonathan Cohler, Thomas Martin, Luis
Rossi; and Peter Cassino, piano; Oscar Stagnaro, bass and Bertram Lehman,
drums.

Multiple Grammy award-winning jazz and Latin artist Paquito D'Rivera
performs in a concert featuring a clarinet quintet version of his popular
suite "Aires Tropicales" followed by a jazz quartet featuring Oscar Stagnaro
on bass, Peter Cassino on piano and Bertram Lehman on drums.

* Saturday June 23, 2001 at 8:00 PM
Gala Closing Concert
With clarinetists Alessandro Carbonare, Jonathan Cohler, Thomas Martin, Luis
Rossi with flutist Mimi Stillman; award-winning wind quintet Vento Chiaro;
The Diabelli String Quartet, and pianists Amy Cheng, Shizue Sano and Susan
Shin.

This extravaganza ncludes a wide range of works including the Francaix Quint=

for Winds, the R. Murray Shafer Quartet for Strings, and Sonatine for flute
and piano by Dutilleux, Mendelssohn Concertpiece No. 2, Mozart Adagio for
