To me, (IMHO?) this brings us back to the uses of the words
tolerance and discrimination. There are good and acceptable
uses of these words and their implied actions. Tony is
discriminating in his acceptance of advice offered on the
internet. Wise, I think. Tony knows there are a wide
variety of people on this list, and so he shares his choices
(discriminations) with us. Thank you, Tony.

Discrimination is bad when it is used for superficial traits
such as skin color. Discrimination is good when you are
making choices and sifting through incoming information. I
think this was clearly explained in Tony's original "guru"
posting. I got it. It was well written and made the
point. Sorry I didn't "me, too" it.

Tolerance is good when you are at a party and need to just
be polite. Tolerance is not good when the results are a
"dumbing down"--as we say now, "watering down" as we used to
say--of information or, as Tony said (loosely), an
equalization of all the choices just because someone
believes or feels good about it and the opportunity to
spread it around exists.

I too, noticed that Neil immediately wanted to know who Tony
was referring to. I recently had, as a leader, to address
unprofessional behavior within a "professional" group. The
few people that had brought on the universally needed
reminder came to me to ask if I thought they had acted
inappropriately. Ironic, huh?
