Tony,

How come you believe that <scientific discussion> is necessary to understand
how "biting" (or <anything> which could be slightly abnormal) affects the
embouchure adversely or otherwise?
Why should it be? What makes you think that we MUST understand basic
<scientific principles> to overcome human/ physical/aural/sound projection
peculiarities, using a bit of reed attached to a bit of plastic with a hole
in it?

Surely the only science involved is in the experimentation of "design" of
hardware (reed m/p etc). The software, our lips, jaw, teeth, tongue, and
perhaps above all else, our strength and how we use it, is beyond scientific
evaluation. No scientist(s) will ever be able to get to grips with <every>
organism, <every> star, <every> virus, <every bacteria>, EVERY EMBOUCHURE.

Our only recourse, which does not, cannot involve science, is to stand up in
the front room and bloody practise, practise, practise till we either get it
right or chuck the instrument in the trash bin. Help from a "guru" , not a
scientist will ease the pain somewhat, but in the end it`s down to us, the
individual.

Best,

Tony W.
