...except the heart of a midwestern, Bacardi-swizzling, clarinet-playing
Chicago Cubs fan whose team is beating the Milwaukee Brewers 10 to 3 in the
top of the 7th.
(HURRAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! Go, Cubs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Ahem....<adjusting
collar>.....anyway, a very Happy Birthday to Roger, and I hope you and your
brother have a wonderful visit!

I've noted Annie's valid points that such luminaries as Eddie Daniels aren't
here to judge or speak. Considering the worldwide exposure of the Klarinet
list, I doubt very seriously that such famous luminaries are unaware of this
list. I believe quite a few of them are out there lurking, as is their
right. And I must say that I'm rather stunned at what they must be thinking.

I'm no stranger to the internet. I've belonged to listservs and participated
in regular chats for people of every interest from Chicago Cubs baseball fans
to Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans to Catholic Democrats to people who
voluntarily choose not to have children. Discussions can become QUITE
heated, especially if you're trying to debate whether it was Mike Nelson or
Joel Robinson who was the better host of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

And of all the debates I've witnessed, I'm astonished and saddened to say
that the pettiness on Klarinet is among the most nasty and petty I've ever
seen. Yes, it appeals to my baser instincts; I have to admit that I eagerly
point my mouse and CLICK at a post that seems to diss someone else, as if
this were the Jerry Springer show. I admit that, but I'm not proud of it.
I'd much rather learn from the more experience musicians, than block them out
of my learning process.
