Good advice. Worse advice is to switch mouthpieces for whatever works that
day. As a teacher and a performer, I would recommend that a person learn
to play on the one mouthpiece that allows for the best of everything and
learn to control it - rather than switch to one for control and then switch
to another for volume. It makes no sense at all to do this. The exception
is classic vs. jazz perhaps.
I know this sounds dogmatic - but it is also realistic.
