Dear William,
After reading the original post again from Walter, I agree there is reason
for confusion, even if one understands the difference between concave and
convex.
I'm sure that "How did the concavity get there?' was a short, momentary
brain fart from him.

Walter? Is an addendum in order? I think I understood the gist of your post,
but it is best that YOU clear it up.
