Hi, Annie. Long time no speakee to you.

I played Clarinet in a 60 member community band. Our venue had about
1000 people in the audience. 1st day some pops stuff that included 3 or
4 dixie medleys with a 5 piece dixie band up front accompanied by the
large band. 2nd day the sponsoring org. wanted Sousa marches since it
was a patriotic holiday thing. I played a solo w/band accomp. on a
Sousa waltz called "I've Made Plans For The Summer". It went well - the
good mic allowed me a greater range of dynamics so I found a way to put
some feeling into the tune and still be heard. By the way - this event
had an estimated 130,000 paying spectators this year. It starts about
mid-week with some bands playing around town - schools - libraries -
shopping malls, etc then gets into full swing on Friday evening - went
on 9:00 AM to 12:00 midnight and then some until Monday. Got to hear
Pete Barbutti, Bob Draga (played one of the solos with him), Tommy
Newsom, George Probert, Dick Hyman, Abe Most and others.

Thanks for asking
