I use them, although the repair tech at the store where I work does not
think much of them. Depending upon your point of view, they either wick
moisture AWAY from the pads (good) or hold moisture ON the pads
(bad). Personally, I use a conventional swab and THEN put in the pad saver
to clean up anything I missed.
