I'm only really arguing against the excessive amounts that some schools
require. We've all read those postings on either the clarinet list and
bulletin board and been appalled at what some schools are doing. Music
educators have fought long and hard to get these to be credited courses.
Now it is time, in *some* schools districts, to get these to be band CLASSES
as the music educators want to shape them rather than let it be overwhelmed
by the marching aspect.
