Strange, my art class never put on a display although parents could come in
and look at it. My children's schools set out the artwork as a display on
the school's Parent's Night but that was only once or twice a year. Now I
am talking about public school systems not art schools. And on top of that
in the public school they get their grade whether their work is displayed or
not.

Still you need to spend the necessary time developing the basic abilities in
music before you become embroiled in a hectic performance schedule. The
people you mention are making their living performing music. They spend
virtually all their waking hours either preparing to perform or performing.
They are not high school students still developing their musical abilities.
The high school student needs to be kept to a limited performance schedule
so that they can develop musically.
