Ann, the point that someone was making was that the physical part of band
was as hard as the physical side of football. It is not, and you are right,
I would not lie to the list. I found your sarcasm to be insulting. Dee, as a
system analyst, I can assure that that I know what you are talking about.
Ann, it is too bad that you have such a deep held bitterness towards
athletics. It is causing you to suspend the reality that athletics takes a
tremendous amount of mental discipline and mental agility.

In the same way that I played sports and clarinet, so does my daughter. In
the same way that I was pretty good at both, so is she. There is room for
both. I know that this post does not address the issue of funding for music
in schools, but it made me feel better to write it.
