I dunno, I have a dream like this once or twice a year, in which I discover
some major flaw or crack in one of my wooden clarinets. At least in my case,
I think it's inspired by my constant awareness of the environmental
sensitivity of wood instruments, and the expense of repair/replacement.
(And, to some degree, also inspired by the impossibility of total assurance
that my instrument won't crack despite all my best efforts.)

In contrast, it's easy to get insurance against most other
non-self-inflicted damages. Your car explodes? Your stereo stolen? Covered.
But your instrument cracks? Ha.
