It's an eye opener, Roger --- a major eye opener --- to learn how
different the perceptions are in different parts of the country. Since
I'm not a teacher and since I have zero experience anywhere but in my
own town, I doesn't make sense for me to argue. It *is* reassuring to
hear that it is different elsewhere.

I doubt that there's use in debating this any further --- except to
say: "Worlds apart!" If I'm in the minority, then I'm relieved.

Just try to imagine, however, what a parent feels when the school
district distributes an agenda item that says: "No music, no librarians
next year."
