My dad was a phenominal Naval musician and after he retired from he Navy
School of Music, he taught Jr. High School band for 25 years or more. He
used to make fantasic arrangements of popular tunes that no other bands
could play. He even had a marching band routine from the opera "Tommy"
by the WHO. We lived in Florida and I always felt that my band uniform,
especially with the plumed hat, was way too hot and uncomfortable. Daddy
had his Junior High band wear blue-jean bell bottoms and orange sweat
shirts (the school colors) and the kids really looked sharp and
everybody thought it was cool. ANNIE
