Why is it considered extracurricular when, even though the performance may
occur outside the normal school day, attendance is frequently mandatory and
will directly affect your grade? Many schools will drop you a full letter
grade or worse for missing a performance. That sounds "curricular" to ME!

I wonder how the athletes would feel if the band found some even BETTER
jackets for their letters...
