I read somewhere that the CSO has both, Boehm and Oehler clarinets,
the Oehler's for some "german" music. I was a little bit surprised
and also amused that the figurehead of the Leblanc Company, Larry
Combs, also plays on Oehler's.

My question: I like the recordings of the Mahler symphonies (at least
#1 and #9) with the CSO conducted by Pierre Boulez (Deutsche
Grammophon, form the md 90's). I always was proud of the nice clarinet
parts which I assumed to be played with Boehm clarinets (I also play
Boehm myself). Does someone know if precisely THESE recordings were
played on Boehm's or Oehler's?

Dirk
