Hello all,

My apologies if this question has been addressed before. I have a portable
Sony DAT deck which I use to record myself playing with an accompanist. I
then transfer the data to my computer and use Sound Forge to edit and make
cd's. The problem is that even though my Dell computer is a very good one
and only about a year old, the sound card has no digital input. Therefore I
am tranferring from DAT to analogue by means of the "line in," and then back
to digital for the cd's. Surprisingly to me, the quality of the result is
still signficantly better than when I use my old pro walkman analogue unit.
But I would like to upgrade my sound card so that I can input digitally,
without spending a huge amount of money. In other words, I need a
reasonable sound card that has a digital input and is compatable with my
system. Any suggestions?
