Good Morning everyone,
There are some sound samples that sound remarkably realistic. EMU Proteus 1
from the early 90s has a scarily real bass clarinet sample. I am certain
that EMU still uses some of these samples in their current line of sound
modules.

FYI, I went to high school with three guys who wrote for the X Files: Glenn
Morgan, Jim Wong and Glenn's brother Darin. Darin was in my sister's
wedding as a matter of fact.
