Dear Tony,
I just read the article "As others see us" by Brian Hawkins in the "Clarinet
& Saxophone", Spring edition 2001.
He's recalling a rehearsal of the Weber Quintett a few years ago for which
you were a little late, and where the other guys would start a plot, that is
to start the slow introduction a semitone higher.
Well, he didn't tell the rest of the story and I was wondering whether there
might be a remote chance for the list to hear from yourself what happened
then? ;-)
Fellow musicians did it once to me, too, and what I did was to jump up and
run for my clarinet case, because I thought I'd picked the wrong instrument...
