Somebody (David Glenn?) asked me to report on the end result of my
concerns about the 109-decibel DJ at a school dance.

The school principal had already decided, in response to this
particular incident, to request that the school be equipped with a sound
meter (consumer grade, not the $20,000 laboratory variety) in order to
monitor DJs at future school events.
So I was 'preaching to the choir'; but the principal lacked actual
measurements from the night of the dance and lacked a printed copy of
the NIH standards . So I have supplied them.
More than just buying a meter for this particular school, I believe
that the matter will be discussed at the district level by staff. All
told, it's reassuring to learn that the school system where I live is
taking the matter seriously.

Cheers,
Bill
