Yep. And you see how those civilizations are prospering today. And
remember, there is a SIGNIFICANT difference between ignorance and
stupidity. Ignorance is curable.

It sounds like the local education system has badly served your eighth
graders, but is doing much better now. Remedial attention for the eighth
graders is warranted.
