Dear Bill,
What you just described to us about the volume level of DJ's, has
been a sour topic with me for a long time. In recent years, DJ's have
replaced live bands, primarily because many people who go out "Dancing"
say that they want the music louder and they want the arrangements to
sound "Just like the CD". I realized a few years ago that I was
unwilling to get a bigger PA system and uninterested in learning a
"modern" repertiore of hip-hop, rap and "contemporary" disco. I now play
my swing music in nursing homes and a few country clubs and use a very
small amp. I guess I have been "put out to pasture". Fortunately there
are still plenty of places to play. I'm glad I got out of the bar
business before my ears were damaged. (I hope). My husband says that I
am hard of hearing. ANNIE
