Subj: [kl] Which clarinet to purchase for schools

I teach Elementary band and I am preparing my order of instruments for next
year. I usually request that the school purchase Selmer student model
clarinets.

I was wondering if there is some other brand of clarinet that would stand up
to typical abuse by beginners as well as respond well to young players. Keep
in mind that these are instruments that go out on bid and administration
tends to notice price before durability. I would also ask that if you have
come across a particular brand that does not do well please let me know. I
have found that I have a closet full of these.
