Well, in fact, I didn't purposely write it in such a way as to be
obscure, though admittedly sometimes I do do things like that.

In this case I was surprised that someone thought I was dissing Mr
Opperman, so I wanted to correct that impression.

I haven't read Mr Opperman, so I don't know whether I would personally
find what he has to say useful.

Probably I should read him.
