Since nothing happened for apparently 20 years, it is possible that this may
actually be an altogether different type of situation. This makes it less
likely that it would be workmanship or wood issues. One possibility could
be a flaw created at a later time, such as a small, unnoticeable nick. To
verify something like that would take dissecting the instrument and I'm sure
you don't want to do that. Or it could be something that none of us has
thought of.
