My comment has nothing to do with music; but in most visual arts,
perfect symmetry of the entire composition is usually considered to be a
_bad_ thing. Examples: the "Rule of Thirds", the viewer's eye should
move across the work, sense of motion, etc.

Perhaps the human face/body is more an example of a survival value
(health, fecundity, etc) rather than of an aesthetic value.

"Balance", which is an important part of visual art, is not the
same thing as symmetry, of course.

....although even in music, a symmetric or mirror-reflection
composition or accompaniment can be a fun idea to tinker with, but
normally not an artistic goal.
