Indoors or outdoors, cold air is quite dry; the snow represents moisture
that would ordinarily be held by the air. Warm air holds moisture and then
drops it as rain or snow when it cools down. Hot air can be dry but only if
it hasn't absorbed moisture (as in the desert).
