The OUTSIDE air may or may not have been dry, but in the winter, with
heating systems in operation, INDOOR air tends to be VERY dry in the
winter. That's why it is not uncommon for tenon and bell rings to get
loose in the winter, but be fine again come spring. The wood actually
shrinks that much in the low humidity.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
