Sorry for jumping in here - but I need to ask a question...........

Is it possible that it is not so much the temperature as it is the
accompanying lack of moisture? I remember before going to Arizona for a
Clarinet Fest several years ago I was warned to take my Dampits and use
them regularly - to avoid cracking of both clarinets and the bass. I
followed that advice of course, but the implication was with regard to the
drier weather as opposed to the temperature..........but it could have been
a temperature issue too.

Just asking your opinion....
